Elke Calero Sweeney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has 20 years of experience in the Social Service field. Elke has 14 years of experience in the HIV/AIDS and communicable diseases field providing risk reduction and client center education and counseling. Elke has 6 years of clinical experience focusing on issues of chronic pain and depression, relapse prevention, anxiety, and trauma. Elke currently works full-time as an advocate and counselor as well as working part-time at a youth community center. During her free time, Elke volunteers in the community providing advocacy, support, and empowerment to individuals at risk of HIV/STD’s as well as providing education and empowerment to the migrant worker community. Elke obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at Western Connecticut State University, and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University graduating with high honors. Elke’s dedication and commitment to others has resulted in her receiving several awards from prestigious bodies within the social service and social justice fields.
