Ms. Jackson has earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and holds Master’s in Psychology with a concentration in Family Psychology. Ms. Jackson continues to pursue higher education at Capella University with the hope of obtaining a Ph.D.
Ms. Jackson’s profound belief is that in order to be an outstanding mental health provider one must have the ability to be patient, kind, determined, dedicated and dependable for all people. As stated “In this day and age we come across different variables that make up our society and I understand that people need a place where they can feel safe, learn consistently and are able to build trusting and healthy relationships”. As a provider she has mastered all of these qualities and is dedicated to the struggle that families are exposed to everyday.
Ms. Jackson knows firsthand that domestic violence impacts woman/children and families; it increases the chances of negative behavior, repeated cycles of family violence and abuse. It is her belief that families who are exposed to these environments are more susceptible to being impacted by trauma which will not only effect generations, but will eventually permeate into the greater community. Ms. Jackson is a huge supporter of Domestic Violence Prevention and Psycho-Educational classes which will help to avoid recidivism in the judicial system for offenders of domestic violence and abuse.
Ms. Jackson not only serves as a well versed community supporter, but she is also a Parent Advocate/ Co-Chairwoman for New Haven Public Schools Planning Committee via Families for Excellent Schools/Teach our Children/Community Activist and Founder of Courage to Change Enrichment Center. She has continuously showed her ability to support families during their time of need throughout her 28 years as a Mental Health Provider and serves as a Domestic Violence Interventionist/Prevention Facilitator/Counselor in New Haven, Bridgeport, Ansonia, Derby and Danbury Connecticut.
